From the moment you step inside, the vibrant atmosphere welcomes you with a perfect blend of great tunes and warm hospitality. This isn’t your typical chain café; it’s a unique spot where every dish tells a story through fresh, thoughtfully prepared ingredients.
The menu effortlessly combines classic diner-style favorites with Middle Eastern flair, inviting diners to explore diverse flavors. The Manhattan Burger stands out as a true highlight—juicy, well-seasoned, and layered with melty cheese, it’s no wonder multiple visitors have raved about its quality and taste. Meanwhile, the donair wraps paired with crisp chips deliver a satisfying, fresh burst of flavor, showcasing the café’s skill in balancing hearty and vibrant tastes.
Breakfast here offers a delightful dive into Scottish specialties. The Lorna sausage and potato cake are cooked to perfection, served alongside impeccably brewed coffee that energizes and comforts. On colder days, the crispy pakora matched with hot tea provides warmth and crunch, making it an ideal treat to combat the chill.
Cafe Sono’s charm extends beyond the food. The friendly staff creates an inviting ambiance reminiscent of a welcoming nook—perfect for people watching or savoring a quiet moment. Add to this the artistic vibe where coffee and culture merge, and you have a space that feels as enriching as it tastes. “ Really enjoyed this cafe. It felt like stepping out of the noisy, grey streets and into a cosy nook with great tunes, tasty food and really lovely staff. A real gem, with lots of great people watching to be done. Oh and a really delicious classic cheeseburger with lots of melty cheese. Why would you ever go to a big chain when you've got this round the corner? Will definitely be back. ”
“ Cafe Sono is a unique experience. It’s got a great selection of diner-style foods as well as some delicious middle eastern options. We enjoyed the donair wraps with chips and they were amazing. The flavours and ingredients were tasty and the wrap and chips came out hot and fresh. The owner/manager is very nice and brought our food to us. The prices are also fantastic if you’re out jn Glasgow on a budget. The shop is a small and tight spot under the train tracks and the space itself is very eclectic with tons of cool decor (like an entire wall made of suitcases or tables made from live edge wood on top of antique sewing machines). It’s more than a spot for quick eats, it’s an experience. ”
“ I had the best burger ever here! Give the Manhatan burger a go and you will be amazed by the high quality of the food and the great taste! Also very affordable! We loved it! ”
“ Highly recommend this quirky place, we had a really good delicious breakfast with great coffee here! Come across it by chance as we were visiting Glasgow and was not disappointed. Staff were really friendly and the atmosphere (music and just a great vibe) were excellent! ”
“ Stopped by this snack place and it was perfect for the cold weather. Tried their pakora with hot tea and it really hit the spot. Fresh, crispy, and comforting — exactly what you want on a chilly day. Simple, tasty, and definitely worth stopping by if you’re nearby. ”
